Kendall's All-Star Football Game

I know that it's Saturday but this is my post for Friday. I had to post it today because we didn't get home until late last night. Our youngest son Kendall was selected to play in the Pawnee Bill All-Star Football Classic in Pawnee. Kendall graduated this May. It is going to be quit different around here now that we don't have anymore kids in Elementary or High School. I can honestly say that I am ready for it though. This is just one more chapter in our lives and I welcome it with open arms.
I dropped Kendall off in Pawnee on Tuesday for a weeks worth of practice. I was really excited for Kendall to meet new friends and most of all re-connect with an old friend. When we lived in Pond Creek, Kendall had a best friend that he did everything with. Duncan moved to Pawnee when the boys were in 4th grade. They did stay in contact after Duncan moved. They would visit each other for the weekends and talk on the phone. Then we moved to Texas and they just kinda drifted apart.
Anyway when Kendall found out the game was in Pawnee he called Duncan to see if he could stay with him since there was no housing for the players. Of course Duncan said yes and the great thing is that Duncan was playing in the game too & the boys were the same team. How perfect! And Perfect it was. You know that you are truly good friends when you can go years without seeing each other and pick-up right where you left off.

The kick-off was at 7:30P.M. so we pulled out of town around 4:30. We had a car load. Chris & me, Rob (my cousin), Chad &; Kristina Burnham (Kendall's H.S. Football coach and his wife)

The White team was Victorious.
We went to Stillwater to eat at Eskimo Joe's then it was off to the game. Kendall played well & looked like he was having a good time. He played Offensive Receiver. Kendall's team won 20 to 17.
