no computer, therefore no pictures

Who knew that putting a computer on a pillow on your lap for hours at a time could eventually fry the dang thing. Ok smartie pants you may have know but it didn't even cross my mind. There is good news though, the computer is still under warranty and they are gonna replace it! Thank Gosh! I guess that I will be investing in one of those lap tables so the new computer will get air flow. It's is really bugging me that I can't upload any of my Father's Day weekend photos. I will be playing catch up once I get my new computer!
Last weekend was a absolute blast! Since it was Father's Day, all 3 of the kids were home. We golfed 3 different times on Saturday and 1 time on Sunday. We had a ball. We did some cooking out on the grill and had plenty of pool time too. (I have picture of all occasions and will be posting them at a later date) & yes of course Los Potros was visited twice! I must say that for never golfing before, I am a pretty darn good golfer & I enjoyed it. I guess that is just one more thing that Chris and I can do together.
This week has seemed like it has just drug on and on and on. I worked on Monday till I had to come home sick. I'm not sure what was wrong with me. It very well could have been too much sun! Tuesday was work. Wednesday was cleaning day at Deana's. Thursday was work and then we went with some friends (Chad & Kristi Cink) to Gibs Bar in Pond Creek for 50 cent Taco Nite. It is fun just to get together with some friends and unwind. After the bar we went back to Chad & Kristi's for a few drinks and more friend time. And now we are here at Friday! Yes!!! Friday has been another work day and then who know's, but I was just told I could leave a little early from work so I'm otta here!!! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

No pictures, only words

I know that it has been awhile since I last blogged. Sorry! I guess that I can tell you the real reason for not blogging is that I am boring! I have not done anything fun all week long. I did the usual routine things everyday this week. Monday = work, then home. Tuesday = work, then home. Wednesday = oh wait I did do something different on this day. Wednesday's I usually don't work at either office in the court house. For those of you who might not know I work part time at the County Court House. I am split between 2 offices, the County Treasurer and the County Court Clerk. I love both of my jobs and I have 2 of the best bosses that I could ask for. I know that you have heard me say many times how I love to clean house and organize things. Well I decided to start putting that to use outside of my own home. Since I don't work on Wednesdays I decided to pick up a job cleaning a house or 2 for a little extra cash. When I mentioned it at work one day, one of my bosses, Deana jumped on the chance for me to start at her house. I was really excited to be cleaning and finally getting recognition for it. (my family kinda takes it for granted.) Deana and I decided to start in the kitchen and work my way through the house. I got to her house around 10 a.m. and the fun began! I pulled everything out of every cabinet, wiped the cabinet down, and reorganized. I was there from 10 - 4:30 and was able to get most of the kitchen done, but I still lack the drawers and the fridge. I will tackle those next Wednesday! I know that I am weird, but I loved it!!  Thursday = work, then home, and then to Lauryn's softball games. (My little cousin) I had left my battery charger for my camera at my sister's in Woodward so that is why I have no pictures for my blog this time. She is mailing it to me today so hopefully soon I will be back in to the swing of things. Friday = work, then home, then ???? We don't have any plans set for our weekend as of yet. Kendra is coming home today to hang out around the pool for a while and I am sure we will all be pooling and grilling on Sunday for Father's Day, but other than that we don't have anything set. I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend. TTY  in a few days!

Lazy Days, Summer Storms, & 3 little girls

This weekend was a weekend of not a lot. We enjoyed those Lazy days of Summer, or at least I did! Friday I lucked out and was able to come home an hour early from work. And what did I do with my hour, I took a much needed nap! I have not been sleep very well at night and it seems to catch up with me around 2 - 3 P.M. so it was nice to come home and catch up on some zzzz's. After I woke up, I made supper. I promised Kaleb the night before that I would make one of his favorite meals, Lasagna. After cleaning up the kitchen the boys headed out to meet up with some friends and Chris and I just laid around the house. Saturday I was able to sleep in, but Chris got up early and he and Ky (Kendra's boyfriend) went to Blackwell to play in a golf tournament with Pedro (One of the owners of Los Potros) After I got up and around I headed out to do yard work and lay out in the pool. Chris called around 2 P.M. and was just finishing up & wanted us to meet him and Ky for lunch at Potros, so the boys and I headed that direction. The boys decided to ride back to Alva with Ky to hang out with friends and Kendra, so it was just me and Chris. And what did we do with our time? We came home and took a nap! That was until Gary Horning, a old friend came walking in through our back door. There is nothing like being sound asleep and being woke up by someone in you house! We had a nice visit, then it was time for more sleep! Yes, I warned you in my title that it was Lazy Days! I don't do Lazy very well but when I do I do it up good. Sunday was no exception for my weekend! I tried to make a day of it, but mother nature had another idea. Every time I headed outside to do yard work it would start raining on me. After about 3 times of getting rained on I finally gave up. The boys were still in Alva so Chris and I decided to go over to my cousins house. For those of you who have been following me, you know that I am very close with my cousin Rob and his family. When we got there some of the girls were napping so Chris, Rob, Heidi, and I sat on the back porch and watched the storm move in.

Here are just a few shots of the view that we had from their back porch! And I will have to say we had one pretty close call, as a bolt of lightening hit in the lot just behind the fence. It was loud and bright and made Heidi and I jump right out of our chairs!

After our storm watching experience we went inside to spend some time with the girls. Rob and Heidi have the cutest little girls. They will absolutly brighten my day every time I go over there. They truely run to the door to greet us with their arms open ready for hugs. I don't go more than a week without seeing them. They are very special to me and I love them very much.

This is Kylie Brook. She is the youngest of the three and very attatched to her Aunt Yaw Yaw! That's what the girls call me and I love it.
Kylie loves to be held and has a laugh that is just so cute.
This is Gracie May. She is the middle child, we have that in common. Gracie is all girl. She always notices when I have gotten my nails and toes done and always knows when I have gotten new clothes and jewlery!
Here she is being goofy!

This is Lauren Paige. She is the oldest. She is very grown up for her age and is such a good big sister. She is pretty girlie but has really gotten into softball this summer. She has hit several homeruns! She still loves to be held and have her back rubbed. She is a sweetie!  I had another picture of her but it was too blurry.

What a great relaxing weekend! Hope everyone enjoyed your weekend also!

Harvest 2010 is well under way

The harvest of 2010 is well underway!

For those of you that might not know, I am from a small county in Oklahoma that is surround by farm land, Wheat mostly. My family were not farmers but you don't have to be a farmer to enjoy harvest in a small town. Every since we moved to Medford when I was in the 4th grade Harvest has always been one of the highlights of the summer. You can always tell when it is getting close because it like there is a buzz in the air. The farmers are all anxious to get started. The custom cutter's, we call them wheatie's, all start coming into the area. It's just an exciting time.   You didn't have to be a farming family to experience harvest either. When I was growing up, if you weren't a farming family you worked for one or worked at the elevator where the wheat is delivered by trucks. Even the girls would help the farmers wives by babysitting and helping take meals to the field. In some why everyone in a small town gets to experience all the fun. About 7 1/2 years ago my family moved to Kyle Texas, just outside of Austin. For the 5 summers that we were there Chris and I always mentioned Harvest and how much we had missed it. We moved back home 2 1/2 years ago and each harvest that we have been home we have loaded up in the truck and driven those red dirt roads just to watch the combine's go in circles. I know this might sound boring to some of you but if you are from a town that has a few weeks of harvest you know what I am talking about.

I remember when I was growing up we would go out to the field with my cousins. We would ride into town in the wheat trucks to dump the wheat. This was back before wheat trucks were semi's. The trucks were much smaller so we would wait in line till it was our turn. It was always a treat to get a pop when we finally made it to the window.  I also remember riding on the very top of the combine. Now that I look back at it that wasn't such a safe thing to do, but man did we think it was fun. After we got down we would just be covered in dirt and wheat dust, the bath tub would need to be cleaned when we got done. I hope everyone has a profitable Harvest this year and thank you for all of the great memories!

Another busy weekend

I think that I find myself saying this every Monday " Weekends just are not long enough!" And this weekend is no exception. Chris has started a new schedule at work and he gets off at 11:00 A.M. every Friday. I work from 8 to 4:30 on Friday. Every since we lived in Texas Chris has had this thing about saving cans to recycle. It seemed to work out good in Texas because just around the corner was a recycling center and it was easy just to throw the bags in the back of the truck on a Saturday and go cash them in. We have lived back in Medford for 2 1/2 years now and have saved cans the entire time. If you know us you know that we go through a lot of cans! I was really getting sick of looking in the back yard by the shed and only being able to focus on the mountain of black sacks full of cans.

Our personal mountain, I call it "RED NECK MOUNTAIN"

Chris loaded up the cans on Friday after he got off of work and headed to Enid to cash them in. Over 500 lbs of cans! Really? Really! He came home with over $250.00!  Who knew that you could make over $100.00 a year just for drinking beer and pop! After I got off of work Chris and I headed to our favorite spot. You guessed it, "Los Potros." Kendall was in Woodward for the K101 Classic Bowl and Kaleb was at the lake with friends so it was just Chris and me.

This is one of my 3 favorite meals. Chili Colorado with cheese sauce.

And this is my beverage of choice!

After dinner we stopped by my cousin Rob's house since I hadn't seen the girls in a week. I am very attached to those girls and I don't go more than a week without seeing them. I am so blessed to be a part of their lives and they will brighten my day no matter what! I love when I walk through the door and they all 3 come running to me and yelling my name. I can't get enough of it. And did I mention they are the most beautiful girls in the world (along with my own daughter of course)
Saturday Chris and I got up and did the yard work. I know that I love yard work a lot more that Chris does. I can always find something to do in the yard and when Chris is done, well he's done. I finished pulling weeds while he took a dip in the pool. While I was doing yard work I got a call from my Boss and my friend Deana, she had her daughter Heather and her granddaughter Hadlea ( who I must say needs to be in the group with my 3 little girls and my daughter, ) She wondered if they could come swim for a while. Chris and I were leaving for the football game at 2:00 so they came on over.

\
Need I say more! She is beautiful.

At around 2:30 we headed to Woodward for Kendall's ball game. My Little Sister Sharla live's there and my nephew Taylor was selected to play in the K101 Classic Band. It was so fun to have a football player and a band member representing the family!

The annual K101 Classic Bowl!

A crane waving the Red, White, & Blue!

Flying in the USA Flag before the game.

We met my sister Sharla, my niece Shayln, & my cousin Rob and went to the game. It was pretty hot until the sun went down. But after that it wasn't too bad and there weren't any biting bugs!

Kendall is there on the end # 8.

My nephew Taylor. The one with the long black hair.

My baby boy. I love this picture.

Kendall is on the far side 3rd one in with the red tape on his shoe's.

After the game we went back to my sister's house and just had some family time. I finally gave in around 2:30. I think Rob and Sharla stayed up till around 5:00.

Sunday we all got up at different times and wandered on into the living room. Chris went to Mickey D's to get us all breakfast, them we just sat around and watched a couple of movies. My nephew Taylor is in a band. It's a rock band named the "Pursuit" He is very talented and I believe he will make something of himself with his music. Not everyone loves Rock music, including me, but watching him play is awesome. I loved it.

All in all a awesome weekend. And some beautiful scenery on the way home.
